Hi Friends,
I wish you and this entire world a very-very happy, prosperous and tension free New Year 2010. May God bless His creation on this Earth with feeling of "Vishwa vasudhaiva kutumbakam". विश्व वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम।
On this day, we would like to draw your kind attention towards following shloka (verse) from Shrimad Bhagwad-Geeta:-
योगस्थ कुरु कर्माणि संगम त्वक्त्वा धनञ्जय।
सिद्धयैसिद्धयो समो भूत्वा समत्वम योग उच्यते।।
Yogastha kuru karmaani sangam twaktwaa dhananjay,
Sidhyaisidhyo samo bhutwaa samatwam yoga uchyate.

O Arjun ! Leave aside the fear of victory or defeat. Have a neutral feeling towards both of them. Don’t think of victory or defeat, success or failure. Be balanced and perform your acts without being disturbed or perplexed by feeling of victory or defeat, success or failure. Such state (state of performing acts, maintaining a balance) is called yoga.
Friends !
I wish to be back soon, but I can’t promise. I again wish a very-very happy, prosperous and tension free New Year to all.
With thanks and regards,
Keshav Dayal
It is difficult for me to explain the verses of Geeta in their true sense. Neither I understand Sanskrit language properly nor I own mental status to understand the underlying philosophy. Hence, it is also difficult for me to appreciate verses in true sense. Hope you kind people will forgive me for my all faults. What I could understand is:
Yoga is not for thee who dies of hunger,
And is not for thee who takes over much.
Yoga is not for thee who awakes all the time,
And is not for thee who sleeps over much.
Yoga is for thee who is balanced at every step in life, in walking, waking, talking, taking, sleeping, …
In critical cases of operations performed on a human body, a surgeon knows that patient may also die, but without worrying about death performs operation. So one must behave like a surgeon in all his actions. Mitro (Friends)! Apart from physical pains, most of the human beings are suffering from tension, worry and dissatisfaction. Somebody has aptly remarked “Murde ko chitaa jalaati hai, jeete ko chintaa khaati hai.” (Dead bodies are burnt on pyre whereas living persons are eaten by worries). What has been said is that worry is worse than a pyre. Pyre destroys dead bodies whereas worry destroys living bodies.Yoga is not for thee who dies of hunger,
And is not for thee who takes over much.
Yoga is not for thee who awakes all the time,
And is not for thee who sleeps over much.
Yoga is for thee who is balanced at every step in life, in walking, waking, talking, taking, sleeping, …
Have you ever thought about causes of tension, worry and dissatisfaction? In my considered opinion, our expectations and attachments are the only causes. These give birth to tension, worry and dissatisfaction. By attachment I mean “mine", " yours” (teraa-meraa).
On this occasion of New Year Day, once again I wish you and this entire world a tension free, worriless and a life full of satisfaction. It is upto you to think about the manner and the way you can fight and conquer these enemies.I wish to be back soon, but I can’t promise. I again wish a very-very happy, prosperous and tension free New Year to all.
With thanks and regards,
Keshav Dayal
